Mobility Assessment

A mobility assessment is completed to evaluate a client's ability to ambulate or mobilize.

The assessment involves:

  • Review of client medical history
  • Physical assessment (balance, strength, range of motion, vision, etc.)
  • Home accessibility assessment
  • Review of eligibility for funding

The mobility assessment will determine whether the client would benefit from a cane/braces/crutches/walker/manual wheelchair/power wheelchair or scooter. The assessment will also determine the client's eligibility for funding and assistance will be provided for completion of funding applications if appropriate. If client is deemed appropriate for a mobility device the therapist will review safe use of the device in the home and the community.
