Shirley Szilvasy, BSc (OT), OT Reg. (Ont)
Shirley is a Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. Shirley graduated from the University of Toronto in 1985 with her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and also obtained a Diploma in Social Services from Humber College in 1979.
Shirley has clinical experience in both acute care and community settings and held positions as a Seating Clinic Co-ordinator, Senior therapist on a Critical care team and as a Neurology Rehabilitation Co-ordinator. Shirley has worked in acute care hospitals for 13 years in the areas of Orthopedics, Intensive care and Neurosurgery in Ontario, Alberta and Illinois. She has also spent 13 years working in community based settings assisting client's with discharge from hospital to home , return to work and functional activities within their home. Shirley uses a client centered approach and evidence based practice. Her ongoing area of clinical interest is traumatic brain injury.
When not at work Shirley spends time riding her horse and hiking with her dog.
